New Seasons Market, a Portland-based grocery store chain,  invited neighbors and community members to join the opening day and “Bread Breaking” celebrations to mark the opening of its newest store in the Ballard neighborhood.

The “friendliest store in town,” located at 951 NW Ballard Way, marks the second Puget Sound location for Portland-based New Seasons Market.

“We are excited to open our doors to the Ballard community,” said Kerri Hunsley, Ballard store manager. “Bringing people together around delicious food is what New Seasons is all about, and we look forward to welcoming our new neighbors into this gathering place. We are honored to have partnered with local nonprofits and hired amazing staff from local neighborhoods. We have sourced a variety of products from more than 175 vendors across all departments, and many of them are hyper-local vendors from the Ballard area. We look forward to being your neighbor and serving the Ballard community for many years to come.”

New Seasons Market was founded on building lasting vendor relationships and recently hosted a local vendor fair for small artisans from the Seattle area. Many of their products will be available in the new Ballard store, including a Fremont Brewing Hazy India Pale Ale exclusively brewed for New Seasons Market.

Designed specifically with the Ballard community in mind, the 25,000-square-foot Ballard neighborhood location will include:
